Taepodong



 
 

     This rocket is a standoff scale model of the North Korean Taepodong 1 missile.  It is constructed of a handmade paper bodytube, a lathe turned wooden reducer and nosecone.  The fins are thin cardstock.

Launch:  First flight was with a B6-4 that nearly sent it out of sight.  Flight was straight and steady with only minor deviation due to wind.  Recover was within 100 feet of pad with only some minor chute melting damage.  Must use more wadding.
